Suii came to me out of a rescue situation. She was as pale as a chicken cutlet. From her general shape and the hint of red she had a thought she might be a tricolor, maybe even a Koi. That made me very hopeful, as ladies with those genetics have a much easier time finding a new home.

She did tickle my heart strings, but I didn't have a tank in which she could stay long term, so I was dead set on giving her up. She and the other ladies from the harem I rescued were doing much better, and her color started to come in! She started to develop some darker patches and she was ready to go on sale / search for a forever home.

As I was writing the texts I noticed that she was being chased around, so I put her in my shrimp tank. Now on my table at eye height, I fully fell in love. I just couldn't let go. She has those stunning blue eyes. She is curious and loves to explore the tank, she watches the shrimp, but doesn't try to eat them. She is tiny, so I don't think she could eat any except super tiny Shrimplets even if she tried.

And today I noticed the blue shimmer! She is such a beauty, I can't wait to watch er transform.

Suii is Japanese and means Transition/ Transformation/ Change. I like to give my fosters names with meaning, like a wish for them to develop in a certain direction. In her case I suspected she is a Koi, so I went with a Japanese name. I chose the meaning of Transition, as I want for her to experience a change for the better, and encourage her to change her scales and show her true colors.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh I am so haaaaapppy for heeeeeerrrrrr aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh 😀
