Hello guys, I’m looking for some expert trouter advice. This is a “trout stream”, the only one in the county I live in. It’s a bit of an exaggeration to call it one as the population is extremely tiny. A survey done in 2022 only found a singular brook trout. Anyways, I’m no fisher myself but I’d really like to help bolster the trout population as brook trout are set to loose 2/3rds of their available habitat in Wisconsin by 2030. Thankfully I volunteer with the land trust that protects a portion of it! I’m wondering what you guys think of the current habitat. The water is very clear and fast moving. I’ve dipped my hand it and it seems to be pretty cold too! I feel like it would be a good place for trout to come live so I’m not sure why it’s so barren. Any ideas?
