Agreed minus the river part. We just simply don’t have many rivers w smallies near me on Cape Cod, MA…we have amazing ponds that are fed by herring-runs that eventually connect to the ocean…the herring work upstream into the lakes n ponds to spawn. The smallies GORGE on them. They are absolutely amazing and SUPER aggressive. Not your average smallies when the herring r running. They take large baits and swimbaits. 50+ fish in 2-3 hours isnt uncommon and many over 4lbs. Some over 5…broken 6 a dozen times. Tanks.
