Whilst at P*tco a few weeks back purchasing a siphon for another tank, I saw this sad, tiny alien tucked away in the back of their betta cups display. I’ve sworn off big store fish on account of all their issues and maltreatment, but promised I’d grab him if he was still there after I came back from a weeklong vacation. One week later and there he was, buried underneath two other cups and not looking great. I negotiated down his price because wtf.
He’s coloring up now! He was in a hospital tank for the first 10 days or so, then added to his big tank which he seems to like. Massive plant shipment on the way, lots of tannins, airstone, heat and dark hiding spaces, and daily water changes for now. He seems to have some residual swim bladder/buoyancy issues but could be that he was just starving too.
Looking for a name for him! Something esoteric and maybe space-themed. Tried Galileo and it didn’t stick lol. Wish him (and I) luck!

What an incredible transformation in only 12 days! He looks happy, and it sounds like you’re really spoiling him!
I saw a movie called “Jules” a few years back about a visiting alien. He was so good natured and not actually trying to destroy the world like most of them are lol.
