Saw this myself on Sunday and spoke to people who had been there all weekend…but…Caddis are hatching with a fury but the fish aren’t interested! I got skunked Sunday morning and headed back the Deschutes. I spoke to some campers who had been fishing all weekend and they said the only fish they caught were on size 22 zebra midges…the fish took nothing Caddis shaped below or on top of the water!

I’ve had a a bit of success throwing dries during hatches this past week when fish were rising (purple haze and para wulff specifically). I’m newer to fly fishing, so maybe these aren’t “caddis” imitations, but they sure do work.

I heard the x-caddis is great, but haven’t had any success with it yet.

I’ve been going to crooked 2-3 times a week for the last month. Most of my success comes from smaller zebra midges and perdigons. The silver bullet baetis has been really good too. I mostly fish with a double nymph rig and 90% of the time the fish take the lower, smaller nymph.
