Hi! First time betta fish owner. I went away for 2 and a half weeks left my fish in the care of someone else. I came back and his fins are torn apart and he has lost some of his pigment. I was told he has not had a light for about 3 days and I came back to his tank more than half empty, so very doubtful of water changes. How can I bring him back to health?
Ps the mirror is only there for abt 30 sec-1 min max per week I just had to get him to stay in one spot for the pic.

I’m new too, so I can’t really help. I think from personal experience (my betta, Cosmo, was really sick) that you should do some more water changes, feed him a bit less (idk why, it just helped with Cosmo and might help with yours), use some of the cycle stuff you can buy at pet stores…
I’m not experienced at all, like I said. I just hope your boi gets better 💙
I would be SO pissed at the person left in charge of them… Did they even feed them??
