I did full tear down, clean, lube and reassemble. The Southbend was done a few years ago so its kind of icky again. It's missing a few thumb screw caps(?). Mitchell was mounted on the bait caster… it works..
Southbend absolute trash to fish with, looks fantastic on the wall though. Haven't tried theo Mitchell yet but it's has a pretty modern build. It has folding handle, press button release to return bail arm, bail arm has a compact mode??, anti-reverse, and clicker. Pretty good spool capacity too and has the DeLorean / Back to the Future-esque vibes.
Got a bunch of jank rods and reels for $20 from random old lady selling junk. There's a spincaster I should take a look at too..
Mitchell is made in France in 1981 I believe, serial number starts with L.
Southbend I'm unsure of, no serial numbers.
No. 550 Model G.
