I was recently gifted a 55g for my masters graduation (woo hoo). Now it’s time to decide how to scape the tank. But, that depends on what its inhabitant is!

Debating between two very different fish. Can someone convince me either way? I’m looking at Spotted Congo Puffers OR Koi Angelfish. Help me pick one! 😄

Thank you

As some added information, I currently own pea puffers, pearl gouramis, peacock gudgeons, rainbowfish, harlequin rasboras, goldfish, guppies, and bettafish. Let’s just say my house sounds much more like an aquarium than anything else!

So, live and frozen foods are not a worry for me 😊

I’ve always wanted to have angels because they are so pretty and their mating behavior is beautiful, so I’d chose those!!!

  3. Angels are always a showstopper. And super interactive. I just go some babies, like a month ago maybe not even that. They always come to greet me, and are super cute. I’d definitely suggest angelfish if you haven’t kept them before

The angelfish will be easier because you’ll always have to have something shelled for the puffer to eat or their beak will overgrow :-(

Do you want a bigger tank someday? Its my understanding that a group of adult koi angelfish will need more than the 55g to thrive.
