My tank was clear yesterday and when I woke up this morning it was really cloudy.
Why does it feel like my filter isn't pumping hard enough?
I'm using an Aquarium coop air pump and sponge filter.

Move the pump higher than the outlet point and bundle all the extra tubing (if any) at the same height as the pump.

The outlet of the sponge filter needs to be under water, otherwise it does not work. It needs to be fully submerged.

Something’s clogged, or the air pump isn’t strong enough for that outlet height. You might want to work down a list like
– is there a kink in the airline?
– is there a loose connection losing air?
– is something clogged up in the filter itself (sponge? tubing?) might want to give it a quick rinse in old tank water
– is the pump itself functioning correctly?
If all those steps check out OK, then you might need to fiddle with the outlet height or that elbow shape.
