Most things say 1/8” from the bevel but that only counts if your rod can’t handle. I agree with the others send it. You can alway remove some line later if it needs it

Cast a few times in your yard- tie a small weight to the line.

Start with your least favorite tackle and this will sort itself out and you’ll have the perfect amount of line in no time.
