Betta Fish: My boy has gone to the great pond in the sky

I had my boy, Neptune, for about a year. Found him dead a couple days ago before work. His fins had gotten insanely long and heavy, so I'm not sure if this shortened his life or not. 3rd picture is the day I got him.
