😱 that’s terrible
basically will have to deep clean the tank by rinsing it a ton. Cause any bit of residue of the cleaning supplies can kill everything in the tank

Ok so i guess I’m going to have to be the first one to ask, but why did your daughter do that??? Please say she’s young and just doesn’t know any better???
You can grab a new container that is clean and hasn’t touched any soap or chemicals, put him in there(new water of course, make sure you don’t put any of that water from the tank in with him) while your dealing with the tank, make sure he has enough air but not too much current, and I wouldn’t risk the tank or equipment/decor not getting cleaned out, you can use a new plastic tub or container as a replacement until you are able to get a new tank and filter cycled, sorry this happened, if he has any plants you could probably set up a little container to keep an eye on them to see if they make it, just have to wash them off before hand though.
Try not to stress him out even more then he already is, if he makes it tomorrow, make sure to do regular water changes while his new tank cycles.
