So I recently bought a couple of these guys and I'm confused on where I should tie the knot of my line. Should it be on the back or on the link that the assist hook is on? Does it even matter?

  1. You always tie a jig on the side with the eye. I would tie to the split ring personally, but some will tell you to tie directly to the lure.

  2. There’s two spots for different reasons. If you were vertical/ slow pitch jigging you would tie to where the jig and hook are connected, but never to the jig itself. In this case you would tie to the split ring, but ideally I’d tie a welded ring to my leader and attach the split ring to that for quick lure changes.

If you were using that jig to drop a piece of bait down, or if you were casting and retrieving/ jigging it back, then you’d tie to the tail loop.
