What's up all! I just recently got a plopper style bait just like the one shown in the picture, it's been great! Bass love this thing, my only issue is the hooks, I hate dealing with these kinds of hooks, I normally don't use a glove to hold onto the bass to get hooks our, but with these types of hooks and depending how shaky the fish is, it's unpredictable, would this lure still be usable if I used J hooks instead? They are easier to remove and calm My nerves a bit more as well.

I’m unsure which size is best for that size WP, but I replace most of my treble hooks with these, or similar, hooks:

I tried replacing the hooks on Ploppers with single hooks but the body of the lure tended to randomly spin and lose action.. I put the trebles back on and pinched the barbs shut and it’s been much easier to remove fish..
