My friend offered to give me this tank for free, if i clean it out, seal it, and fill in below the crack, could it still be functional? Its a 10 gallon im thinking i could use as a shrimp nursery

It would be much cheaper to fix it and clean then to buy a brand new 😀 it’s such a good deal
No, the chip into the seam causes structural stability problems. I would not trust water in this tank.
I mean u could probably find another 10 gallon for ten bucks but it’s definitely fixable

If you can’t do it yourself , you can easily get somebody in the pet store to replace that glass for you. Rest of the mineral deposit is easy to clean with a bit of vinegar or any less potent acid
