My fist betta rocket. I am not new to fish keeping but am new to bettas. I have only ever kept fancy goldfish and currently have two large tanks so it’s a nice change for a smaller tank.
Would love some advice on food, filters, tank mates (shrimp or snails) and also just behaviours to look out for.
I am very familiar with goldfish behaviours, but not bettas. So I’m not sure what I should look out for !
Rocket is currently in a planted 5 gal as I am re doing the silicone on my 10 gal (drying now). I have some drift wood boiling.
He has a heater, sponge filter (large one as that was just one I had, smaller one in the mail) plants (real) , sand, a snail, terracotta pot and some duck weed growing.
I have done research but you guys are way better at advice than anything!!
Anything else I should pop in ?

Seems like you’ve done great setting things up for him 🙂 he’s really pretty!
I only got my first betta a week ago, so I’m not experienced enough to tell you what to look out for, I just know you can never have too many plants!

Food wise: I like to rotate between fluval bug bites, hikari biogold, frozen bloodworms, beef heart, mysis, and brine shrimp
