I am a contractor for nursing homes. One of these places had this nice tank, probably 8ft by 2.5ft by 2ft. The receptionist (who was working for the company at the time current owner/management took over in 2004) said that the tank and fish have basically not been touched for the most part since ownership transfer. Is this true do you think based off the species pictured? I believe at a minimum that it’s been 10 but do the pictured species live that long, to 20+ years?

I seriously doubt any of the fish are that old. While I’d entertain the possibility of a parrot living 20 years, I wouldn’t entertain the idea of multiple parrots living that long in the same tank. Much less if they look like that. Those parrots look quite young.
