Any reason why no one talks about using mono leaders over floro? 25yards of floro is double the price of 500 yards of mono. I use 20lb power pro braid with a 30lb mono leader and fish all over the Texas coast from surfs to marshes. Any extreme benefits of floro i don't know about? Flouro holds up better . I’m cheap and tried mono in a pinch but the difference is noticeable
Mono makes a great leader especially in heavier tests, as it has good shock resistant, do to it’s stretch . I use flouro for drift fishing cause it’s a much slower presentation. And for crank baits fishing cause it sinks. All lines are great at something, and most can do everything pretty well.
I much prefer mono over fluoro for my leaders. I like the way it handles and it’s way cheaper. I assume you’re familiar with Salt Strong’s detailed comparison of mono vs. fluoro leaders?
