I’m not an expert but it looks like pop eye. I think it’s normally caused by physical trauma to the area.

First guess would be Popeye. Usally caused by a bacterial infection I belive.

He’s probably going to lose it. The last one I had that it had happened to. I got a bad case of ick.. the sooner you can get on top of treating it hopefully, the other fish in the tank will not contract the parasites it..good luck

That doesn’t look like the kind you can fix with a needle. I’ve seen it done on bettas and goldfish
