Hello,
I recently noticed my Discus fish has what looks like a bite mark with white dots inside of it on the centre of their forehead. I'm not sure if this is a parasitic issue or another fish has attacked it. I have the following fish stocked:
Discus
Angel
Black Ghost
African Kribensis
Pleco catfish
Can anyone assist?

This can be Hole in the Head Disease (HITH) or Head and Lateral Line Erosion (HLLE). In any case, I advise you to quarantine the fish.
Call a veterinarian!
This is quite a severe case.
Hole in the head disease from poor water quality and or stress or those 2 combined
I don’t know about a veterinarian but you can buy meds to mend it large water changes at minimal every other day until it subsides also test your water every day until it subsides. Medicines I am not sure maybe someone can chime in with that or even a quick google search will probably lead you in the right direction ✌🏽
I’ve done a large water change and cleaned out the tank thoroughly. I’ve also added some aquarium salts into the tank to help with recovery. I will continue to monitor and do water changes every couple days to help with the recovery process. Nothing new has been introduced so I don’t believe there is a parasite.
Hole in the head man… this shit haunts my ass. I have lost a few big fish from this. It’s common to have if you have poor water quality. Need to stay up to date with that very important. Clean the filter squeezing all the bacteria out into a bucket of used fish water. And time to use some meds for bacterial and parasite. Dose daily for a week and do 50% water changes. Before it gets too late. Right now that fish is still on the verge of being saved if caught in time. But sometimes the holes are just to big. They may act normal for a bit till it gets worse.
