I got this betta from petco about a week ago. He is extremely active and has already made a bubble nest. Today, I noticed his scales looked like they were protruding slightly. Frankly I can’t tell if I am seeing something or completely overreacting, so I need some input.
This tank has been established for about 6 weeks. It was cycled with established substrate, water and filter medium. I have an amazon sword, some anacharis that is going through some plant melt, and some sort of ludwigia. I dose easy green for fertilizer. Its a 5.5 gallon tank with a modified 10 gallon tetra whisper filter.
I feed the betta 2-3 betta pellets with about 2-3 freeze dried bloodworms.
If anyone has any feedback on my bettas health that would be great. It’s been a few years since Ive kept a betta so I am a bit rusty.

Here is a photo I took when I got him. Does it look like his scales have changed at all?
He looks good, no pine coning
