  1. Happened to me a few months back in the neck under the chin. Gotta man up and push it through. Not much fun.

  2. The initial sting and anxiety of waiting for the line weight to transfer forward to really set the hook. Sorry buddy, been there.

  3. It sucks but tight skin and a hard yank will make it work. I once caught the top of my head through my hat like this. Also remember head wounds bleed a lot.

  4. First time I ever attempted to fly fish, I hooked myself in the shoulder. Can’t imagine what it’s like in the face.

    Probably want to go get a tetanus shot, though.

    This, specifically, is why I crush my barbs. Staying legal is all well and good, but the ease of removal is worth the risk of losing a fish
