I’m so scared I’ve never seen a slit like this on him so high up and doesn’t split at the end even?
I recently put a the betta leaf hammock and I’m wondering if that did this? But what can I do? And what could have caused this?

probably a tare (i don’t know how to spell it lol) from something sharp in the tank. i had a beta like yours with very long and thin fins which got tared easily so you have you make sure there’s so hard surfaces. i heard you should get women’s tights and put them over any decor and if it rips them then it’s too sharp for the fish. i recommended giving him some medacin just to make sure it doesn’t get infected or get worse
