I’m making this post for those who are losing hope and struggling to treat their bettas. I know this fish may not look amazing currently, but he sure is making his comeback and he is proof that you can sometimes help your fish when it may seem impossible. This here is Luffy. Luffy is a survivor of very severe fin rot. I made a previous post about him when he was not doing very hot in search of help and was met with some VERY negative and hateful comments. People on here like to tell you you’re doing everything wrong and you’re a horrible fish owner. I’m here to tell you that you’re not! The second picture is how severe the fin rot progressed. That picture was taken on February 9th. Today is March 1st and I’m glad to say Luffy is thriving! With simple treatments and monitoring the water very closely, you can save your fish easier then you think. If anybody has any questions I’d be happy to answer. I hope this post can help someone out!

Thank you so much for this. My boy has fit rot at the moment (not as severe) but I feel so guilty and want him to be better as soon as possible! ❤️ I appreciate the positivity as it’s one of those things where you have to sit and wait!! X

How did you treat? Was it a water quality issue if you had to monitor it? We had a male whose fins just started rotting away for no reason at all regardless of what we did or tried or treated with. Eventually after a little over a month of that, he dropsied and we euthanized 😞 That was our first ever case of fin rot with bettas. It was awful, he used to be such a majestic happy little man…

I understand that most of the cases on this sub are just people not cycling tanks and keeping them in piss water with 0 research, but sometimes it really is more than that, apparently. Not even posting on several subs here and groups on fb helped. People were just stumped, and we chalked it up to crap genetics, given he was a rosetail, and possibly old age as he didn’t really grow or change much since bringing him home. ☹️

Glad your little dude is doing better!
