There is ALOT going on here that is bad

    Yes its almost definitely overstocked.

Also the overhang on the edge is ASKING for the glass to fail and break.

That “stand” looks like some ikea furniture which is also bad.

My first priority, if i were told to fix this, would be getting a proper stand and rehoming the goldfish(they need a LOT of space and are very hard on your bioload of the tank).

The tank looks around 20-30 gallons, so you could maybe excuse ONE black moor or similar goldfish but its still pushing it. Not to mention i see some non-goldfish occupants.

Basically youre gambling on which will happen first

    – will the fish die from an ammonia spike?

    – will the tank crack from improper pressure?

    – will the dresser i have this tank on collapse?

P.S. none of this is said with malice, theres a lot of bad info on the hobby and the fact youre asking questions is a great start. Good luck 💜

ok. You’ve got quite a bit of issues here, but please dont beat yourself up over it. This is fixable by either rehoming some fish or cycling a new tank or two. If you dont have money for new tanks you can buy used ones off of Facebook marketplace or other websites. If you are nervous about rehoming, there are options. You could ask the new owner to send videos sometimes or even ask for a mailbox to send treats or tank decor to the fish.

You may feel guilty after more people comment, and some may say some not nice things. You did the right thing either way by reaching out, asking questions, and being able to take criticisms and advice. Proud of you and keep us posted on whatever you decide to do

First I will say that your tank is very beautiful and everything else I say is meant only to be helpful so don’t take it as me being mean

    Yes the tank is overstocked

It’s also overhanging on that dresser which can actually cause it to break, and boom, water everywhere

One thing other people maybe didn’t mention (at least not yet) is the sheer size that some of these goldfish can reach.

As others have said you would need a far bigger tank, research not only the minimum tank size for the fish you have but also how many of said fish the tank can hold, seems like that is maybe what you didn’t do

Important thing also as others have said is you’re here and concerned about your fish and asking questions and a lot of us are willing to help you as much as possible and answer any more questions you have
