Super thick line on this big bait casting reel. Is it for offshore fishing or something? Closest thing I’ve found online is nylon fishing line.
I can’t even tie a palomar knot with this line so I don’t know how I’d attach lures or hooks to this line.
Could I just take it off and replace it with 50lb line for saltwater fishing? I’m going saltwater fishing for the first time this weekend.

When I search with google lens I get a ton of hits on that same reel with that line, and the reel is designed for trolling salt water, so I’m guessing it’s some kind of coated line for trolling in the salt.

Weed eater line LOL but no it’s probably like 100lb mono or heavier. If u can’t tie a tie then crimp it. Just strip it off and put whatever you want,

That almost looks like a fly line, for using on a fly fishing reel. Did it come spooled with that?
Edit: I would probably replace it, you can get a whole lot more mono on there and even more braid.
Edit again: It is almost certainly lead core trolling line, designed to sink quicker for deep water trolling. Maybe don’t replace it, depending on what you’re gonna use it for.
