First cast of the day on the whopper plopper and I get a little one pounder. Tried to take the trebles out and fish thrashed. Hook just gets dug in real good. They cut the lure at the emergency room and I lost the lure :(. Did go right back to the pond and caught another 5 fish before the lidocaine wore off another hour later.

Whopper plopper seems like a common lure to get stuck on your hand.
Happened to me a year and a half ago on the foot with a jerk bait. Ended up getting it removed at the ER.
Edit: I hate those little feisty fish. They’re the ones that will mess you up.
Treble hooks are the worst. Always a little nervous taking them out.

That’s one of two reasons I crimp down the barb on all of my hooks
