From a 3 inch bass, 3 pound or this cat! Always a surprise and a great fight. I haven’t got a cat in ages so wasn’t feeling confident in handling this guy. Any guess on species? I think he was pushing the limit of my 4 pound line he must have been 4-6 but I’m really not sure he was 2-3 feet long.
If you haven’t tried I highly encourage you to try ultralight! In pressured spots these smaller lures get smashed. Rooster tail or lil sexy shad I can highly recommend.

Love fishing with light tackle. It’s the best. Requires finesse and patience like cooking on low heat. Looks like a very successful fishing day congrats.
I have an ultralight. It’s great. Small fish feel massive. Massive fish feel like whales. I take it with me every outing to mess with dinks so I dont feel bad about getting skunked
