So I thought originally I had ich, I noticed the white spots start to form on this guy at first. I began treatment with Seachem Paraguard and got the tank temp up to 84 degrees. It's been a few days and I've now lost 6 fish, 3 of which were my awesome looking EBAs. By no means am I an expert on any fish disease, but I have done a fair amount of research through various sources. The more I look at this poor guy the more confused I get thinking about if I've been treating the wrong type of parasite. If this epi, and I have been treating the wrong parasite, am I screwed or can I come back from this?

definitely time to treat for epistylis. ich doesn’t kill that fast
If you have recently added livestock, it’s more likely to be ich.
Otherwise, epi is more likely.
The fact that they died rapidly when temperature was raised suggests epi. Raising temperature to treat ich isn’t a good idea due to the possibility of it being epi.
