I assume water temp is still too cold (36f) but is this the right place to look for brook trout? Up in Algonquin which is apparently has plenty of them. Thanks!

  1. Only one way to find out brother. Follow the creek till you find a deep hole and cast away. If there’s any fish that bites no matter how cold it is, it’s trout

Could be. Depends if the stream holds fish or not. Looks a little tough to fish that specific spot because of the brush. I would try it. As for the water temp we fish in January(Wisconsin) when there is skim ice at the edges. Usually picks up as things get warm but trout can still be caught. Probably want to avoid wading in case there are still eggs on the gravel. The run by the culvert looks good. If it is legal drift a worm down the current and see if it gets any interest. Walk the banks if allowed and look for holes timber and current runs and fish them. Flys, small spinners and spoons can work too.
