I’ve had Jugs for over 2 years, tank is established with plants, parameters are what they always are when I changed water recently (ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0-5.0 pH 7.8). He has been going downhill for the last six months. He has been on and off kanaplex for different reasons. His swimming never recovered from having dropsy recently, but now he is losing colour and has something coming out of his gill? Seems like he is gasping a lot and I just don’t want him to be in pain. Still eating still swimming and normal otherwise but if anyone can help me identify what this stuff is I’d be very grateful. Thank you

No tank mates, 20Litre tank, he gets fluval bug bites and API pellets and one day of fasting a week. Temp is 26 Celsius with heater, and filter
I change the water once every few weeks. It’s super stable and happy so I replace 30% every couple weeks.
Could it be some kind of parasite? I don’t really have experience with parasites. I hope someone can help you
