I just got him a couple weeks ago, just got a heater about 2 days ago (yes I know I should have had one when I got him). He has live plants in his tank and a filter. I have tried 3 different tetra beta min foods and he doesn’t seem like he eats much and I’m trying my best to learn.

He looks very ill, with what I’m not too sure, but a top view would be helpful.
Replying to Amazing_Anteater9648…
He looks a bit thin to me, and not as colourful as he maybe could be, although it’s hard to tell whether that’s genetics or stress tbh. Have you tried frozen foods? Highly recommend daphnia and brine shrimp as an everyday food, and bloodworms as a treat (they’re very fatty). I also recommend trying fluval bug bites if you want to stick with dried foods; bug bites are full of protein and nutrients and there’s not much plant-based filler, which is why it’s recommended so often. If you have a look at the ingredients lists for the foods you’ve tried, you may find that the first few listed are things like cornmeal and potato starch, which can be difficult for bettas to digest. A good thing to remember when checking ingredients is that they are always listed in order of largest quantity to smallest, so you want the first few ingredients to be protein sources like brine shrimp and fishmeal.
His fins are clamped, are the water parameters alright? have you cycled your tank well enough?
My betta really likes Hikari betta bites and I also give him 1 bloodworm a day, which he loves.
I had a betta many years ago that almost starved himself to death until in desperation I put a mosquito that I had just smacked into the tank. He loved it and from then on I fed him freshly caught mosquitoes, preferably still twitching. He lived a long and healthy life. Not saying that will work for you but it might be worth a try.
