Im pretty new and just got some new shudder paddletails and 1/8thoz jigheads and was just curious if the hook is too big or if its fine i really dont know what to be looking for but i think i did it right.

Not at all.
The bait is laying naturally & the hook is coming out of the “top” of the paddletail. You generally want to hook these types of baits so their tail wiggles left and right when reeling, but if you hook it lopsided (i.e. not directly out of the “top”) it may run funny and you should consider adjusting it.
