This is a sturgeon, they will grow massive and need a pond to be kept properly.

    Acipenser ruthenus

“The sterlet, Acipenser ruthenus, is one of the smallest sturgeon species. Nevertheless, this fish can also grow to over one meter in length. The largest known specimen is reported to be 125 cm long. Sterlets become usually around 60 cm long.”

It’s definitely a sturgeon of some kind. Not only do they grow rather large they will definitely eat shrimp. I’d recommend the average aquarist to avoid them as they really need large ponds with high protein pallets to sustain long term growth.

  5. Yeah they can get up to 23 feet long and weigh almost 3500 lbs. even a pond would be cruel.

That is a species of sturgeon, and shrimp is a part of their natural diet. Not to mention even the smallest of sturgeons grow over a meter long, and are cold water fish.
