So today I came across a really unusual fishing rod and I’m hoping someone here can help me ID it or explain what it’s used for. It’s a 30-foot Daiwa rod called the Carbo Whisker Power Mesh. It has no eyelets, and instead has a lillian at the tip, kind of like a tenkara rod.

At first I thought it might just be some weird oversized tenkara setup, but 30 feet seems insanely long for that. I’ve been trying to find any info online and have come up basically empty. No specs, no forums, nothing.

So… what kind of fishing is this for? Why is it so long? And why is there so little info about it?

Anyone seen or used something like this before?

I’m not sure what its called, but it looks like one of those giant rods they use in asia. It’s cane pole fishing where the rod breaks down so you can land your fish from far away
