Hey guys, I’m planning a 30 or so minutes trip and I was wondering if the side straps are enough ? I could add a front one but I don’t have any anchor point in the back.
Also, I now carry my yak with the rudder in front of the car, since I can’t lift the kayak and use the rudder as pivot, if that changes anything

Just with normal pull tight straps. Don’t use ratchet straps you will over tighten and damage your kayak. Most people tie to the front tow hook from front of kayak also. I would tie from the back of kayak to rear bumper or two hook also

Nice kayak😉, in my humble opinion i use a j rack style and i ratchet mine down. So many people say oh dont use ratchets you’ll squish your kayak, yes you will if you reem on it like a dummy tightening it on a hot day but id much rather have a ratchet strap then the cam buckle straps you can literally only tighten them so much and its just not enough for my liking.
Front tie is good if you are going on faster streets.
I would flip it over if possible. Two straps around the cross members and a bow (or stern if you put stern forward) strap will do it.
