Never been fishing went out today with my boy for the first time and caught this bass.
Fishing with a texas rig and as only have senkos. Im looking for more tips on how to fish this rig or what else i should try. Ive been just casting it out as far as i can and letting it sink to the bottom then start popping it up a few couple times then let it sink again till im back at shore.
Im also looking for more variety of lures or bait i just got a bunch of watermelon worms lol

The method you described is damn near foolproof and certain to catch fish…almost. I fish weightless Texas rig probably more than anything. It can get hit on the sink or as you say popping it along the bottom. I’m more of a fan of treating it like a soft jerkbait and giving it a few side jerks and letting it sink.
Can also rig it wacky.
Other colors? You got one of the best. I have great luck with things like that, green pumpkin, but also junebug, firecraw…plenty of others. Baby bass also. These are Gary color names but sure yum has similar. Also the Yum Swimmindinger is lethal.
