i live in tennessee and i was just wondering is this a good well rounded fly box to start with tips would be help full

    Every one of us has a different collection in our boxes. As you continue down the flyfishing path, your box will change as you try new things, get rid of flies that don’t work for you, and stock up on what does. It just takes time on the water.

    I do recommend putting your name and number on the box for when, not if, you drop it.

    Also, having at least a couple copies of anything is wise because if you only have one, it will be the hot fly and you will promptly lose it.

    Pretty good. You need some mayflies in both dun and spinner patterns in olive, rust, and pale yellow, three sizes of each. So that’s 36 more flies. Edit: looks like you may have a few olives and maybe some iso patterns. Those are good.

    PEDs and rusty spinners are staple flies in the north east.

  3. Yes. And you can tell because the corners of the box aren’t very sharp.

    Now that the SERIOUS business is out of the way…that fly selection looks very good.
