My betta started showing signs of fin damage over the weekend and we fully replaced his water. We are treating with Kanaplex. We aren’t seeing any improvement and it seems to be getting worse. Water tests fine for ammonia and other standard tests.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Bad case of finrot. How long have you had him? What are the water parameters

  2. What kind of filter is in his tank? Is it possibly sucking his fins in and causing the damage? Some types of filters have a strong pull and a betta with massive fins can get them sucked into the filter and that can cause severe damages to the fragile fin membranes.

  3. Take 15 minutes of your time please to watch this video. Hope it helps. Also, try putting him in a different container for a while, take all decorations from the current tank as well. Add a spoon of sea salt per 5 gallons of water to it if it has no live plants. Try setting up the tank by an area with some natural light, preferably a little bit of sunlight, partially sunlight.
