I’m trying to buy a tank together. Do you think all this is worth $100?

I have that big blue canister and paid $300+ for it new…. It works great. We actually have 2 of them we run on our 75g tanks.

  2. If it all works, yes. That Rena XP3 is a great filter. I used to run two of the XP4, sold them to get FX6’s cause everyone said they were so great, but regretted it in under 30 days.

Been running two of those Rena filters for a decade each, my wife ran them for years before that as well. Think we’ve changed out some impellers and that’s it.

  4. That is all REALLY old stuff. You cant even buy filtermedia for the fluval 205 anymore, you would have to cut all your own filter pads. Even if it does all still work, you are looking at 100$ for what is most likely a 15+ year old set up. Stuff is going to start failing soon even if it works now. I wouldnt pay for any of this personally, there are better deals out there on newer stuff.

  5. The stuff is old, but definitely worth $100. How i break stuff like this down:

If that’s a 15 gal tank and not a 20 long, then it’s actually quite hard to find nowadays and many want that size. $40 for just the 15 wouldn’t be egregious. $10/ gently used HOB and $25 for the canisters. Heaters are worth $0 due to their short lifespan.
