A trout fisher on vacation in SC with an 8 wt and some flies meant for reds. Have a kayak and access to the pictured marsh area. I know it’s not the ideal time of year but curious if those in the know would recommend spots to focus on. If casting on the ocean side is viable would be all ears on that but seems somewhat futile.

This time of year, they like having access to deep water to take cover and avoid the heat, but will still eat on the edges. Try fishing the couple hours before and after low tide. Slack tide is a little slow. Early morning bite is decent too. Unless you find feeders to sight cast to, try swinging a streamer into or out of the smaller feeder creeks coming into a deeper channel, both the upstream and downstream points. They like oyster beds, and the closer to the grass on a high tide the better. They’re tricky as hell, not like trout where you know they’re there, they could be in a spot one day and move somewhere else the next. Just need to cover ground!
Id go up in the feeder creeks on incoming tides and as it starts going out throw at the mouth of each along the edges of the channel and work into the middle. Id also hit up the channel edges of the main stems and fish the dock sides of them.
If you have any clouser style baits throw those by the docks. Never know what else is around that is hungry
