Been doing more pike fishing recently but they seem to only like dead bait currently.not really much interest in a range of lures we have
My question is, as its getting colder and colder each week and they start hunting food more, will they eventually start hitting the lures? or am I better off just focusing on dead baiting for them
Only asking as I tend to enjoy lure fishing more than bait

I wonder if this is a quirk with your local population? Can’t say I’ve ever had pike prefer dead bait to lures. When I’m going through a pike drought I through on the trusty red-and-white spoon.

Pike in general tend to prefer active hunting to eating dead baits. Maybe you’re fishing in a very highly pressured area and they’ve become educated, so to speak.
