This week, I was driving with my girlfriend on our way to dinner when we noticed cars swerving around something on the road. I pulled over to check it out and saw four really nice baitcaster rods the kind of setups that easily go for $300 each.

As someone who loves fishing, I know how much your gear means to you. It’s not just about the price it’s all the memories tied to each rod that tells a story about your trips, big catches, and tranquil mornings. Losing that would suck.

So I decided to post the rods on Facebook Marketplace, hoping to find whoever lost them. A couple of days later, the owner reached out! We met up, and he turned out to be an awesome guy who runs a local shop called Bullkelp Bedrolls. I wasn’t expecting anything in return, but he surprised me with some incredible gear from his shop as a reward.

It just felt really good to help someone out and see the relief and gratitude on his face. Sometimes doing the right thing brings good energy right back to you. One of the rods did break but I was able to return the other three in good condition considering the circumstance.

I’m attaching the pics of the rods, the awesome store owner, and the gear.

Huge shoutout to Bullkelp Bedrolls and the owner for the sick gear!!!

Wonderful, so good to know not all the other fishermen are assholes, just the ones on my river.
