So I’m new to this hobby and I’ve had this tank for about 4 weeks now, Stevie is the only inhabitant of this tank. But he fights his reflection a lot (glass surfing) how do I stop this? I’ve ordered a black background is there anything else I should do or will he just get bored eventually?

There’s not much you can do but let him tire himself out, but you really should get a lid. Bettas are notorious jumpers, especially when trying to fight their reflection at the surface like this.
