Just planted my tank. Found this guy. Do I need to eliminate him?

Looks like you have a trespasser. A cute one. It’s a snail.

    There will probably be more.

Bladder snail! Can be cute or a nuisance. They breed a lot and are known as being “born pregnant”. Generally will only overpopulate if you over feed the tank. They might explode in population at first but then level out if feeding on regular schedule and siphoning out leftovers.
It’s up to you if you want them.

Bladder snail. I was excited when I first received one as a hitch hiker on a plant I bought. They are great at eating algae and generally cleaning the tank. The problem is they reproduce like crazy even if you control feeding. If you don’t want them then get rid of it, because it will make more and then they will be impossible to get rid of. I have learned to live with mine and don’t over feed my tanks.

In the beginning their population exploded but I feed my betta only some pellets and their numbers seem steady now.
