So,I got him when he was about 6 months old.he was in a planted and cycled 10g.i took care of him for about 2 months before I moved countries.He is under my Mom's care and she feeds him as much as I asked her to and does weekly water changes.Today I got an update on him and his colour looks very different.is this normal?

Yeah colour change is pretty normal but it does look like he has lost a little vibrancy. This can be down to diet, I would try changing it up a bit, I feed mine a combination of bug bites, live brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and blood worms to give a bit of verity.
