Hi, I’m new here. Just wanna ask if there’s something wrong with my betta. He seems a bit smaller than most bettas I see online, and I’m not sure if his fins look normal. He’s been eating fine and swimming around, but I just wanna make sure he’s fine.

How long have you had him?
I’m not sure about the fins, the picture looks like the fish is in an awkward angle. If you recently got him it could take time for him to get comfortable and be his true self or it could be a female. I’m not good at telling the genders of fish so hopefully someone else responds with an idea lol
His fins seem to be healthy. I agree he’s got a funny look about him. I do think he needs to eat more, but I also think he’s picked up a lot of spade tail traits in his genes. They are often mixed in with veiltail spawns, which I’m assuming is what he was sold as? Veiltails can also look spade like as juveniles. Nothing to worry about his fins or looks, just fatten him up a bit.
He reminds me of my Ube when I first got him!
