    it depends at max 1-3 he might eat them he might not, also what plant is that big one it’s amazing 🥲

    It seems shrimp wouldn’t have any place to hide. Maybe add more plants first?
    It would be much better to upgrade for 5 gallons at minimum…ideal 10 gallons.

    Shrimp is hit or miss with bettas. The betta will likely harass or attack them. Especially with so few hiding places.

    This is the tank with the most gravel i even seen 🙂 any plants require so much or your personal choice?

    I would recommend upgrading the size of your tank if at all possible, 5 gallons is the minimum for betta fish. 10 is preferred, but 5 is ok if that’s all you can get. I would also recommend snails for tank mates over shrimp as the snails tend to be bigger and have a hard shell to hide in if Diesel gets a little too curious. If you go the snail route you definitely want 10 gallons for the tank. Bettas tend to be a bit more of a solitary species so he’s probably not lonely, but adding snails can be helpful with keeping things clean (just remember to crush the eggs or you’ll end up with way too many 🙃).     I know you might hear this from other commentary, so no judgements, but a betta would be healthier and happier with a 10 gallon, well planted tank. Shrimps would also benefit for the same reasons if you were to pair them together.

    Ideally, allow the shrimp to be the first members of a heavily planted tank, at least a few weeks, then add the betta. This will reduce the chance that your betta will see them as prey, and less that the tank is ‘theirs’.

    If you add more plants, some spiderwood, moss, etc, it will also encourage biofilm that the shrimp will largely forage from and provide them hiding spots from the fish, bc they are still prey animals and their behavior will change once the fish is added. But having more plants, the fish will want to explore more, and the shrimpies will have more spaces to feel comfortable, forage, and encourage birthing.

    Are you sure it’s a 3 gallon? It’s looks bigger than that, how long since you set up the tank?

    Tank size is fine of course it’d like a bigger tank but to be 100% honest its big enough for the beautiful man
