Betta Fish: Would this 60l aquarium be ok, please, despite the fact it’s taller rather than wider? (more info in comment)

Hi all,
This is a 63l aquarium and its measurements are 35x45x40cm.
A lot of the tanks I see on this sub are wider, so I’m worried this isn’t wide enough and a betta fish would hate it, so I’d appreciate any thoughts, please ☺️
edit to add – it has a pump and filter but not a heater in it, so I’m guessing an added heater will take up space, too

A 60L tank might sound “better” because it holds more water, but size isn’t just about L, it’s about shape. Bettas naturally live in shallow, slow moving waters like rice paddies and ponds. They’re not strong swimmers, so they prefer horizontal space rather than vertical height.
Bettas also breathe air using their labyrinth organ, so they need easy, frequent access to the surface. In a tall tank, that means swimming up and down long distances, which can actually tire them out, especially as they age.

That’s still wider / larger footprint than a typical 5 gallon /~20L tank.

Bettas prefer long tanks. Personally I keep my bettas in 20 gal longs minimum, shallow so they have plenty of room to swim and jump if needed. The problem is that a betta fish needs to reach the top for air, it’s not that big of a problem but the ta j is quite high and can create an uncomfortable environment for it
