My betta was developing signs of fin rot and was not eating. I discovered it on Friday and then went to test my water and put antibacteria salts on Saturday. Also moved it to a hospital tank where it was breathing heavily at the bottom. It died on Sunday before I could give antibiotics. Could I know what happened to my fish and get some advice so I can learn?

Its 5 gallon tank with heater. Have had the fish for 2 months. Weekly water changes using siphon, about 40%. Feed with pellets 1-2 times a day and let it fast once a day every week. Have some plants and decor with no plastics.
Your pH looks pretty high. The most likely cause was it already had diseases before you got it. which happens to alot of bettas. I also dont see you included a nitrate test which would be nice to sed
